back to school...
Monday, March 31
well the gep camp certainly felt like a holiday. no lessons at all, and a complete waste of time.
so "back" to school, it was a really great day!
okay it set off on the wrong foot... i woke up late, and my mom had to send my dad to the airport, so i couldn't get a lift from them. so i dint eat any breakfast and just dashed out of the house after changing and cleaning up, only grabbing a small little pack of garlic green peas, hoping to eat it sometime in between lessons.
but as the day went on, that moment never came. so i had to go for PE on an empty stomach, and run 2.4! well i still did what i could anyway. glad to say i still did fairly well, 12:42! heh, slower than last year... but thats on an empty stomach and lack of sleep anyway. i better do better for this friday, when its the ACTUAL! euuuuu! apparently 12:01 to 13:00 is only C! so bad! just imagine, next year i have to improve SO much more if i still wanna get a gold...
so after that was recess, and i finally get my nourishment for the day. too bad the fried prawn mee queue was too long, so i had to settle for kapao for a quick meal. then after getting milo bing (which qin xiang mistook for teh bing :P), i went back up to class to finish up on my IOP presentation, in case i was going to present that day. first time i left the canteen without staying behind to talk... haha
so back in class i finished off the last slide in my presentation, and started writing call cards for me to refer to during the presentation. i had like 10min left to do the cards. so obviously i didnt complete it in time for larts a lesson, which was immediately after recess. so when ms bose came into the class, she said i was going 2nd! at least not 1st... so i made use of the time to finish up my call cards. thank goodness for the time.
so when it was my time to present, i purposely stalled for the sake of the presenters after me, cos they weren't very prepared. heh.
then i did my presentation, with qin xiang as my 2nd time keeper to inform me of the time left at certain points. thank goodness for that, if not i wouldnt know how much time i had left, as yu shiang, who was the timekeeper, was told that he didnt need to tell me then there was 1min left of stuff like that.
so after the presentation, nobody in the class asked any qns, so ms bose posed her own qns, which were rather interesting actually. but of course i could answer them :P then after that the class was asked to give their opinion on the grading of my presentation, which was very high! i was so happy!!!!! who would know that i could have pulled it off so well XD dint know my content was that good. all thanks to God (:
lots of people also commended me for the presentation. even ms bose! wheeeee! she said the content was very good, esp since my topic was rather unique. sooooo happy! i dont think she thought my language or presentation was stellar though. she dint say anything about it. of course she did say that jie jun and i should have made our presentation more interactive :P but after all, we're the first 2, we're the guinea pigs, what can you expect?
so after that was bio! so fun. i can actually understand what's being taught. copied notes from matthew, ryan and qin xiang after the lesson cos i was writing a bit slow XD hehe.
then ihs was free period, since mr sham dint come.
finally was pc lesson, and we had to go to comp lab 8 for the silly national education quiz. i dont have to do it since i'm malaysian, but i did it all the same. just for the fun of it XD i dint bother reading the instructions, so i totally dint understand the game. it was actually a NE quiz AND a strategy game. but how was i to know that? so my final score was fairly low, compared to the rest of the class.
then when i told ms ong my score she was like, "what? so low???" then i told her, "i'm malaysian. i dont bother knowing all these stuff!" and she still said, "but you've been in singapore for quite long already..."
please lah, if i'm malaysian living in singapore, why would i bother to find about singapore history, all the singapore campaigns, culture in singapore, all that nonsense? it has nothing at all to do with my ancestry. they even ask such obscure questions lah... like, why is it part of my duty as malaysian to find about all this? obviously not!
moreover, the points at the end are also part of the strategy game aspect, which i totally didnt understand. please lah, if you really want to test national education, you should just be asking the questions right? not including other elements which screw around with your final score, and have nothing to do with the person's knowledge. i bet i answered more qns right than quite a few people in class. quite an achievement for a malaysian i'd say! please, gimme a break.
well off to sleep, and once again, praise God for the success of my IOP! so ecstatic! never could have done it without Him.
XOXO
